Heel langzaam, maar steeds meer, kwam de behoefte om creativiteit te ontplooien. Dit in combinatie met de liefde voor hout, hebben we een cursus houtdraaien gevolgd. Hoe het begon
Het begon allemaal met een toevallig filmpje op een van de socials. Iemand maakte een schaal uit een blok hout. Er volgde hierna nog vele filmpjes. Schaaltjes, sleutelhangers, poppetjes, pennen en nog veel meer. Toen kwam vanzelf de gedachte: "Dat wil ik ook". Dit hele proces heeft overigens een paar jaar geduurd, maar dan, eindelijk, hebben we in 2024 een workshop gevolgd.
En dan brandt het vuurtje. Wat is hout toch een mooi product. Inlands, exotisch, licht, donker... Het hou(d)t niet op. Plotseling ontstond er een soort van waardering voor bomen.
Inmiddels bestaat de werkplaats uit een mooie voorraad hout, en is het gereedschapsbord goed gevuld. Er is een hobby ontstaan waarin ik rust en plezier vind. Het geeft een fantastisch gevoel om een ruw blok hout te transformeren tot een bruikbaar en hoog afgewerkt product
It all started with an accidental video on one of the socials. Someone was making a bowl out of a block of wood. Many videos followed after that. Bowls, key chains, figurines, pens and much more. Then came the idea, “I want to do that too.” This whole process took a few years, but then finally, in 2024, we followed a workshop.
And then the fire burned. What a beautiful product wood is. Domestic, exotic, light, dark.... It doesn't stop. Suddenly a kind of appreciation for trees began to grow.
By now the workshop includes a nice supply of wood, and the tool board is well stocked. A hobby has risen in which I find peace and pleasure. It gives a great feeling to transform a rough block of wood into a usable and highly finished product
